After four consecutive days of virtually meeting through Microsoft Teams, Tarlac State University has passed the surveillance audit for its compliance to the three standards of its Integrated Management System on September 18, 2020.

Throughout the audit, Mr. Shahid Ali Mushtaq, certifying body auditor, ensured the TSU community that the findings of the audit are all geared for the improvement of university services to meet ISO standards.

Among the good points cited by Mr. Mushtaq is the involvement of the TSU administration and its strong leadership in the effectiveness of the management system and its use of scorecards to monitor the accomplishment of plans – all of which are reflective of a strong Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Mr. Mushtaq also commended the dedication shown by offices and units in meeting the standards.

Initial nonconformities were identified during the closing meeting which will be addressed by the university through corrective actions, said Dr. Niño B. Corpuz, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance.

In a message of commitment and gratitude, TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari thanked Mr. Mushtaq for his help in the IMS endeavors of the university for three years.

“We appreciate your wisdom and guidance in attaining this certification,” President Mallari said.

TSU is set to migrate its OHSAS 18001:2007 and apply for a recertification this year but were rescheduled due to implementation of quarantine in Luzon (Jazzel Llaneli M. Manabat)
