The Tarlac State University Firefoxes secured a 2nd Runner-up finish garnering 51 golds at the 2025 State Colleges Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) Region III Olympics held at the Pampanga State Agricultural University on Friday (February 28) afternoon.
After three consecutive years of placing 3rd runner-up in the said regional sporting event, TSU made a significant leap this year bagging a total of one hundred and seventy-three (173) medals, of which fifty-one (51) are gold, sixty-four (64) are silver, and fifty-eight (58) are bronze.
Dr. Ligaya S. Salangsang, Sports Development and Management Unit Head received the award in behalf of the university which was also attended by some of the sports coordinators and presidents of state universities and colleges in Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the Bulacan State University Gold Gears remains the overall champion garnering two-hundred and thirty (230) medals, followed by the Central Luzon State University Green Cobras with one hundred and seventy-six (176) medals.
Moreover, gold medalists from the regional meet will advance to the 2025 National SCUAA Games to be held in Camiguin Island.
The host for the 2026 SCUAA III Olympics was also announced during the ceremony of which Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology is given the honors.
