Tarlac State University is one of the 1,149 higher education institutions globally to rank in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024 under SDG 8 or Decent Work and Economic Growth.
The majority of the university's component scores under SDG 8 are above the median score, particularly on the expenditure per employee and the proportion of employees on secure contracts.
This denotes that the university implements legal and reasonable wages for its faculty and staff based on government policies on salary adjustments and increases, ensuring that every employee is properly compensated.
According to their published methodology, THE Impact Rankings are the first global attempt to measure university progress, specifically around the SDGs. It can be a catalyst for action, a mechanism for holding universities to account, and an opportunity to highlight the work that they are already doing.
THE Impact Rankings ranks universities in the SDGs for which they have provided data. On the other hand, to be included in the overall rankings, the universities must submit data in at least three SDGs plus SDG 17, a mandatory SDG.
