Officials from the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Manila and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) Tarlac Chapter paid a courtesy visit to TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco this afternoon (October 26) at the TSU Main Campus.
The visit aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices between the institutions, particularly in quality assurance and planning.
Office of Planning, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Director Dr. Mervin P. Mohammed shared the activities and strategic plans aligned with the university's roadmaps when asked by IIEE National President Engr. Lyndon R. Bague, also the TUP Director for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Coordinating Services Office (QAACSO), regarding TSU's best practices.
Pres. Velasco also added that the university is currently conducting the annual strategic planning and workshop focusing on the action and strategic plans for 2024 and 2025.
Meanwhile, regarding TSU's quality assurance on academic programs, Pres. Velasco added that all its programs are quality-assured with Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC).
Both parties explored the possibility of forging a partnership in the future.
Other TUP Manila officials who joined the courtesy visit are OIC Director Planning Development Office Asst. Prof. Arthur J. Lagbas, Vice President for Planning, Development, and Special Concerns Dr. Connie C. Aunario, Board Secretary Prof. Mona J. Purganan, Accreditation Head Angelica B. Harris, and Quality Assurance Head Dr. Emelita R. Nuyda.
The IIEE Tarlac Chapter officers in attendance are Engr. Analyn C. Fernande, Engr. Thelma Mangubat, Engr. Erickson M. Fernandez, and Engr. Mark Miclat.
Meanwhile, Quality Assurance Director Dr. Niño B. Corpuz and Engr. Miriam S. Galvez, former College of Engineering Dean, attended the afternoon activity. (jlmm-OPA)
