Tarlac State University is one of the participants in the 15th Belenismo sa Tarlac 2022 under the Community Category. This is the university's first time to officially join the Belenismo Festival in the Tarlac Province.
The university's entry titled "Belen ng Karunungan" was inspired by the designs and symbols of the TSU logo.
The TSU Belen features the Holy Family made from cloth, steel, and wood. It is wrapped in coconut mesh, which symbolizes protection and love. Aside from this, the coconut mesh embracing the Holy Family also manifests the university's inclusivity for indigenous peoples, international students, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other stakeholders.
Moreover, two open human hands, a feature of the TSU logo, carry the Holy Family. It symbolizes a person ready to uphold and protect not only the state but also the nativity.
The bamboo wall that serves as the Belen's background is shaped like the sun's rays, another key feature of the TSU logo representing the Philippines. It is lit in red/maroon and yellow – the colors of the university, the province, and also some colors found in the Philippine flag. This also signifies TSU as a state-run institution. In addition, the design of the bamboo wall serves as the V-shaped exhausts/pipes in the TSU logo that stand for the university's resources.
On both sides of the Belen are gears showing one of TSU's mandates of providing technological education and technology development. The owls in the foreground symbolize knowledge and education.
Wisdom, honor, and excellence embody the students and graduates TSU has produced for the past 116 years.
This Belen was carefully crafted by woodworkers, electricians, and painters of the university – the same people who create Belens for TSU every year.
