Tarlac State University is the 2nd higher education institution (HEI) in Central Luzon to receive a Certificate of Compliance (COC) for the BS Food Technology (BSFT) program from the Professional Regulatory Board (PRC).
Yesterday (March 30, 2022), the Professional Regulatory Board of Food Technology (PRB-FT) conducted a hybrid inspection and monitoring with PRC Region III Regulation Division Chief Dr. Maria Ellen Ruditha A. Quinicio at the Food Technology Research Center (FTRC) and the board officials via Zoom.
According to Dr. Quinicio, the executives of the PPRB-FT were amazed with the BSFT’s facilities, accomplishments, and initiatives despite the program being young.
The PRC-issued COC is one of the requirements for TSU’s BSFT graduates to take the board exam as stipulated in Republic Act No. 11052, “Philippine Food Technology Act.”
According to Program Chairperson Ms. Mary Katherine A. Apolonio, the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of BSFT will follow soon.
