Tarlac State University and its Board of Regents (BOR) through the leadership of Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Commissioner and TSU-BOR Chairperson Hon. Dr. Ronald L. Adamat awarded University President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari a plaque of commendation, “Gawad Para sa Natatanging Kawani” today (March 31, 2022) at the Alumni Center of the Lucinda Campus.
President Mallari is the first recipient of this highest award for her excellent and exemplary contributions and services to the university from March 2014 - March 2022.
According to Human Resource Development and Management Office (HRDMO) Director Mr. Marlon C. Dela Cruz, this special award had been the concept of Commissioner Adamat.
“The PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence) Committee [created] a referendum and a resolution na ginagawad kay ma’am ang kauna-unahang Gawad TSU na natatanging kawani ng university… In a way, honor awards siya for her 8 years of service as president,” Dir. Dela Cruz said.
Under the leadership of President Mallari, the university has achieved numerous outstanding milestones. Some of these include the Philippine Quality Award - Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management, attainment of Level IV in Institutional Accreditation and 100% certification of academic programs by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), CHED Institutional Sustainability Assessment Certification 2021, and Civil Service Commission (CSC) PRIME-HR Bronze Level Award 2019.
She is also a recipient of the PAGASA Award, a regional award of the 2021 Honors Award Program of the CSC.
