Fifty-two students received ₱40,000 cash yesterday, March 4, during the orientation and awarding of financial assistance from the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) held at Tarlac State University Main AVR.
The TES is one of the primary programs under the RA 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Education Act (UAQTEA) which states free tertiary education for state universities and colleges.
Chosen applicants of the TES were reviewed using the Listahanan Program or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) which is an information management system of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that monitors and identifies where and who the poor are in the Philippines.
