The office of the Vice President for Research Development and Extension shall be known as the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (VPRIE) effective June 26, 2024, by virtue of the TSU Board of Regents' approval through Resolution No. 56, s. 2024.
The change of name is necessary as Tarlac State University must "embrace innovation for future growth," highlighting its importance in academic and industrial advancement in this rapidly evolving modern world.
By positioning "Innovation" next to "Research" and "Extension," the university recognizes its critical role in determining the institution's future.
This change also places TSU as forward-thinking leaders in the pursuit of knowledge creation, dissemination, and application.
Moreover, the renaming is aligned with the Office of Innovation and Business Development (OIBD), formerly the Office of Technology Development, Transfer, and Commercialization. The OIBD's name change was effective last March 26, 2024, through Resolution No. 26, s. 2024.
