Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs

Message from the Vice President

As the office responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of the curricular, student-welfare, and other educational programs of the Tarlac State University, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) is committed to the attainment of TSU’s vision to become “A globally competitive university recognized for excellence in sciences and emerging technologies.”

In pursuit of this institutional goal, we at OVPAA, supported by the TSU community, have vowed to reengineer curriculum design to meet global academic standards for excellence. To reengineer curriculum design means reviewing our existing programs and processes to achieve the best quality of education that is in keeping with the demands of the nation’s industries in light of the “now normal” situation not only in the country but also around the world. Crucial to these efforts are transnational education, which can be made possible by promoting international mobility for both teachers and students.

Equally important is the task of ensuring higher accreditation level for our university, which can be made possible through (among others):

  • more and better centers of development and centers of excellence in our campuses; and
  • improved performance by our graduates in various professional licensure examinations, including more topnotchers and more instances of being named a top-performing school.

We believe that all these can be achieved through dedication and hard work facilitated and enhanced by the responsible and proficient use of new technologies that will enable better student engagement and more encouraging teaching, learning,  research experiences and community development.
