Bachelor of Secondary Education
The Tarlac State University cradles one of the best Bachelor of Secondary Education programs in Central Luzon. This institution offers a four (4) year BSED course in various areas of specialization such as English, Filipino, Mathematics, Sciences, and Social Studies. All majors offer Research writing and experiential courses to ensure that they are provided with excellent academic preparation. Prior to the completion of the program, students are prepared for the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT), to which the University carries a considerably high passing rate.
It is geared towards producing graduates with a strong background in education and with global perspectives. Incorporating innovative instructional pedagogy with functional and social knowledge enables students to understand theories and concepts from their roots. The curriculum centers not merely on classroom instruction but also takes into account the relevance of community development.
It underscores a wide latitude of research and community development programs not only among the faculty members but to the students as well. It takes into account the need to immerse the student with the community to take the learning outside the classroom. The integration of local and global perspectives in teaching the principle of the common good is likewise introduced among students of this program.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of Bachelor of Secondary Education offers a wide array of career opportunities. They are equipped with citizenship skills, critical thinking skills, extensive knowledge in world affairs and world civilizations.
Graduates may delve into teaching careers among public and private educational institutions. Should they opt to immerse in community-based employments, their extensive background may enable them to land career opportunities as social workers or communicators. Nonetheless, this does not limit them to take part in writing subject matters in history, culture, and other areas of interest. They may become authors, editors, or researchers of books and other reference materials. Should students opt to participate in diplomatic relations in the Philippines and abroad, they may do so as foreign service officers. However, the list of career opportunities does not end here, as globalization demands the need for graduates with extensive knowledge in different fields of education.
